According to the Global Times, China will start providing space tourism services in 2025. This was announced by a well-known rocket engineer, and founder of CAS Space, Yang Yiqiang.
According to him, the price of a suborbital space tour will be 2-3 million yuan (286,000 – 429,000 dollars). For comparison, a similar trip from Virgin Galactic costs $450,000.
Yang Yiqiang recalled that China launched a commercial space program relatively recently – in 2015. It is implemented with the participation of private capital.
Previously, the first Chinese astronaut, and now the director of the engineering department of the manned flight program, Yang Liwei also said that the Sky Palace orbital station of the PRC will be opened for space tourists in the future, the assembly of which ends this year.
