International railway company Railbookers has announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind train route that will cover four continents and more than 20 cities in 13 countries.
The 80-day journey, dubbed “Around the World by Luxury Train”, will begin in Vancouver, where passengers will board the Rocky Mountaineer train for a three-day journey through the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise, and Banff National Park.
Tourists will then head to Edinburgh, spending seven nights on the Belmond Royal Scotsman train, traveling among picturesque lakes and rugged peaks.
Next up is a two-night trip on the iconic Belmond Venice-Simplon Orient Express from Paris to Venice, followed by six nights on The Maharajas’ Express from Delhi to Mumbai, visiting the Taj Mahal and Jaipur.
From there, passengers will travel to Istanbul to board The Golden Eagle Danube Express, which will take passengers to Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary – during the four-day journey, tourists will admire opulent ancient castles and charming mountaintop villages.
Travelers will then head to South Africa for a three-day journey on the Rovos Rail train from Pretoria to Cape Town.
On the final leg of the journey, passengers will transfer to Singapore to travel on the newly relaunched Belmond Eastern and Oriental Express train to Malaysia through lush jungle forests and sparkling rivers. The train will then return to Singapore where the journey will end.
Railbookers reportedly developed this monumental route after noticing a significant increase in the number of travelers looking to embark on extravagant train journeys.
“Demand for luxury rail travel continues to grow from our customers, and in response, we have created the ultimate bucket list trip,” Railbookers CEO Frank Marini said in a statement.
It is noted that passengers will be able to purchase a full 80-day trip with a change of seven trains, as well as its stages. It is noted that passengers will not spend all their time on trains. At each stop, they will have plenty of time for sightseeing, sometimes with an overnight stay at some destinations.
In addition, between seven train journeys, tourists will stay for longer periods in hotels in London, Florence, Rome, Delhi, Istanbul, and Budapest.
The trip starts on August 28, 2024, and costs from $119,599 per person. This amount will include train tickets, hotel accommodations, car transfers, some air travel (except individual international flights), as well as meals and excursions.
