In Sharm el-Sheikh, the popular marine reserve Ras Mohammed was closed, and now tourists are not allowed there for snorkeling or diving. Also in Sharm el-Sheikh banned from going on pleasure yachts on the high seas. The reason is the state of emergency due to negligence, which the travel agent told about in her blog.
The popular Egyptian reserve Ras Mohammed was closed by the sea. What happened? Dead animals were found in the sea. There are people who have dollars instead of brains and feelings. Otherwise, it is impossible to explain the fact that dead cattle were thrown back into the water from a ship in Sharm el-Sheikh,” the travel agent wrote.
The main danger is that the carcasses of dead animals in the sea attract sharks – writes a travel agent. And the latter “do not understand much – a dead sheep is a swimmer or a living tourist,” – she adds.
According to the expert, one of the versions of the cause of the well-known emergency of 2010 with massive shark attacks on tourists on the beaches of Sharm el-Sheikh, when Egypt was almost closed to tourists – the same situation: it was suggested that one of the refrigerated vessels thaws threw tons of animal meat into the sea, after which a shark invasion began on the beach of Sharm el-Sheikh.
It will be recalled that it was then that the most high-profile incidents between tourists and sharks were recorded. Correspondent of one of the tourist publications, personally witnessed another attack by a marine predator on tourists.
Here is what he said at the time: “I arrived in Sharm El Sheikh early Sunday morning. At that time, the ban on swimming in the sea was lifted by the authorities – in the morning many people swam, many even swam for buoys. I, like other tourists, managed to swim a little, but got out of the water as soon as I saw a whole flock of sharks near me. And at that moment, at about 12:30 on the beach of the neighboring Hyatt Regency hotel, panic and wild screams began.
On the beach, he found a horrible picture: right at the pier, about 20 meters from the shore, a woman in blood was fighting, hysterically shouting for help. However, no one could help her. Only after some time the hotel staff was able to lift on the pier what was left of it – the tourist’s body was all bitten by a shark, she did not have one arm and one leg. “The corpse was covered with beach towels right on the pier – it was a middle-aged German tourist. It is obvious that the tourist died of blood loss – all the water near the pier was red with blood – as in the movie “Jaws”. Panic broke out at the hotel. Everyone who bathes, and especially children, began to be evacuated to the shore in motor boats from the sea. Then the police arrived and surrounded the whole beach. They also brought divers with harpoons, apparently specially trained, who began searching the coastal waters in the hope of finding a killer shark,”- said the correspondent.
So then the travel agent comments emotionally. “And, in this case, on: – Oh, I did not know what I was doing! “You’re not sleeping.” The same event was recorded in Sharm in 2010. Fortunately, the Egyptian authorities reacted fairly quickly. The marine reserve has been closed, yachting on the high seas has been banned,” the blogger writes.
