ABC News reports that the Rainbow Bridge over Niagara Falls on the US-Canada border is closed due to an explosion.
According to preliminary data, a car heading to the United States exploded at a checkpoint on the Rainbow Bridge. Two people in the car died, and a border guard was also injured.
The blast wave scattered several cars in different directions.
The FBI is investigating and considers the explosion an “attempted terrorist attack” with a “large amount of explosives in the vehicle.”
Buffalo Niagara International Airport suspended flights following the explosion.
