A watch that survived the nuclear bombing in Hiroshima was sold at an auction in Boston, RR Auction explains in more detail.
It is reported that a brass wristwatch was once found by a British soldier in Hiroshima (Japan). The accessory was burnt and melted. However, the hands of the clock are visible, frozen at 8:15 am. Despite the cloudy glass, the numbers can be seen.
At auction, the watch was sold for $31,113. The winning bidder chose to remain anonymous.

The auction website notes: “despite the fact that this example is of modest size, it is of great importance and is a historical artifact.”
