Saudi Arabia has begun construction of a new unique “smart metropolis” in the form of a wall that will stretch 170 km from the desert to the sea coast.
This ambitious project, which is being implemented in the Saudi province of Tabuk, is called The Line. The length of the futuristic city-wall will be 170 km, width – about 200 m and height 500 m. About 9 million people will be able to live in the metropolis. The cost of the project is about $1 trillion.
In the city, all the required facilities for human life (hospitals, shops, service centers) will be located within a five-minute walk from the place of residence.
There will be no roads and cars in the city, the only transport is a high-speed train that can travel through the entire metropolis from one end to the other in 20 minutes.
