“I went to Egypt for the vacation of my dreams, but it turned out to be the worst trip of my life,” said the tourist, who decided to spend a week in northeast Africa, visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza and other historical sights, in her TikTok blog. According to her, the trip to Egypt turned out to be very uncomfortable. The main reason, according to the Daily Mail, quoting a tourist, is “aggressive fraudsters” who are hiding everywhere and are always ready to rob tourists of their money.
“Fraud is a big problem here, and I didn’t even know how big it was when I first arrived,” said the tourist. According to her, tourists were asked to pay for something everywhere they went. “It’s crazy. It’s exhausting. It is dangerous after all. To be completely honest, I didn’t feel safe anywhere,” the tourist complained.
In particular, according to her, no one should be allowed to photograph you, and you should not take anything in your hands, especially if they persistently try to hand it to you, they will demand money for it. Scammers also try to lead tourists to some interesting places, usually through shops and not for free.
“If you have a good guide, he will protect you from some of these dangers… But in truth, I did not feel safe even when he was next to me,” the tourist added.
She also strongly advises against going to Egypt alone, especially if you are a woman. “When it comes to men, they look at you and it’s not even a normal look, it’s one of those uncomfortable looks where they never take their eyes off you,” she said.
Baggage was another cause for concern: “We traveled with private drivers and every time we got off at the excursion site, I thought I was seeing my bags for the last time,” she said.
