High demand from foreign tourists and an increase in domestic flights in honor of the long weekend of the Eid al-Adha holiday in Turkey led to the fact that Antalya Airport broke another record for received flights. The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu proudly announced this to the Turkish media.
According to him, the record was set at the weekend and was 1,034 flights that landed at Antalya Airport in one day. The previous record – or 1,026 flights at Antalya airport was set on July 2. But already on July 9, the first day of the long weekend in Turkey, this record was broken.
A total of 1,034 aircraft landed at Antalya Airport, including 121 domestic flights and 913 international flights. This is the highest indicator for the post-pandemic period, added the Turkish minister.
As for the number of tourists, in general, the airport received more than 182,000 tourists in just one day. The vast majority of them are international tourists – more than 163,000. However, the minister did not announce their breakdown by nationality.
