A scorpion hiding in a suitcase survived the flight and stung a tourist at his home

A German tourist returning from a trip to California accidentally brought home a scorpion in his suitcase – he found out about this when the animal stung him in the leg. Mirror writes about it.

It was noted that the 32-year-old tourist and his girlfriend had recently returned to Munich from a 12-day trip to California and had already managed to sort out most of the travel bags. According to the man, when he got up from the couch, he felt a sharp pain in the ball of his foot – it turned out that he had been bitten by a beige-brown scorpion.

The Germans called an ambulance, as well as an animal rescue organization. Arriving services caught the scorpion and delivered the arthropod to the reptile center. The tourist did not need medical assistance, since this type of animal did not have poison strong enough for humans. The couple believes that the scorpion could hide in a rolled-up tent, and already in an airtight suitcase survive a nine-hour flight from the US to Germany.

Earlier in July, a Scottish tourist returning from a friend’s bachelorette party from Spain accidentally brought blood-sucking flies in her suitcase. It was noted that insects hid in souvenir toys that the traveler bought for her children.
