A Ryanair flight en route from Poland to Athens has landed safely in the Greek capital after the pilot reported a bomb threat during the flight, an airport spokesman was quoted as saying by DPA yesterday.
“All the people are fine and safe,” said Olena Dimopoulou, a spokeswoman for the airport.
“The plane took off from the Polish city of Katowice, there were about 190 people on board,” she said. Special units of the police checked the plane and luggage.
Greek state radio ERT said fighter-bombers were dispatched after the pilot reported the threat and escorted the plane until it landed safely, BTA reported.
