A new airport will appear in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi because the existing one cannot cope with the flow of passengers. This was stated by Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
“The current airport’s capacity is approximately 4–4.5 million passengers. You know that we have very positive dynamics in the tourism sector. A rapid and consistent growth in travelers is expected in the future. Infrastructure must also keep up with the times,” Kobakhidze said.
The air harbor will be built in Vaziani on the outskirts of Tbilisi, its capacity will be 19 million passengers per year with the prospect of further growth. The cost of the project is $1.26 billion.
