Tourists going on vacation to the popular resorts of Spain have been warned about the invasion of cockroaches and bedbugs. It is reported by Belfastlive.
ANECPLA CEO Jorge Galván noted that the insect population has grown by more than 500 percent amid climate change. In particular, travelers were frightened by the massive invasion of beetles in the popular European resorts of Alicante, Malaga, Mallorca, and Benidorm.
According to the local National Association of Environmental Companies (ANECPLA), five to six millimeter-long insects commonly hide in beds, on sheets and chairs, in clothes, and suitcases.
According to experts, neither the quality of the accommodation nor the number of stars in the hotel affects the number of insects that may be in the furniture and bedding of the guests.
“This is a very serious problem that we are facing in the healthcare sector,” Galvan concluded.
