At least 12 carriages of a high-speed express train traveling from Delhi to Assam derailed near Bahir state. Four dead and about a hundred injured were reported, Hindustan Times reports.
According to the publication, three or four cars overturned during the derailment. The police and local residents are gathering at the scene of the incident and helping to get people out of the damaged carriages. The wounded are being transported to nearby hospitals.
Officials have also arrived at the scene to determine the cause of the accident.

The train reportedly damaged power lines and railroad tracks. In this regard, train traffic has been stopped in several important directions.
