In Indonesia, a glass bridge with tourists collapsed at a popular attraction. There are victims: one person died, and three others were injured.
According to Indonesian mass media, everything happened at the popular attraction Geong. A group of 11 tourists were walking on a glass bridge when the glass panels of one of the sections of the bridge suddenly began to crack and shatter.
Four tourists were in the danger zone. Two of them could not hold on and fell to the ground, and two more managed to catch hold of the metal structure of the bridge. There were four victims. Of those who fell to the ground, one died before the arrival of medics, the second was lucky – he suffered relatively minor injuries.
As a result, the landmark is closed and surrounded by the police. The law enforcement officers, in particular, are investigating whether “deliberate actions or other concomitant factors” could have been the cause of the incident, or whether the bridge collapsed for technical reasons.
