Four people died and nine others were injured as a result of an avalanche in the French Alps. This is reported by Reuters.
A deadly avalanche reportedly occurred in the middle of the day on the Armansetti glacier, southwest of Mont Blanc.
According to local authorities, the avalanche was large and its causes are still being established. People were skiing cross-country in the mountains when an avalanche hit them. The identities of the victims are still unknown.
French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted that rescue services were continuing to search for victims and that his thoughts were with the victims and their families.
