In a recent decree, the Thai government approved tax cuts on entertainment venues and alcohol to support tourism.
The country had earlier extended the opening hours of entertainment venues to 4 am, the Times of India reported. This is done to increase their attractiveness to tourists and the number of night visitors.
According to the latest information, the government cabinet has also approved reducing taxes on alcoholic beverages.
The approved measures include a reduction in taxes on wine from 10 percent to 5 percent and a complete exemption from taxes on spirits, previously set at 10 percent. In addition, the excise tax on entertainment establishments is planned to be reduced by almost half, from 10 percent to 5 percent.
According to government spokesman Chai Wacharongke, these tax adjustments will remain in effect until the end of this year.
