Boeing reported that it has discovered defects in the new Boeing 737 MAX, namely incorrectly drilled holes in the fuselage.
The company announced the need for additional work but noted that these defects do not threaten flight safety.
The side defect was initially reported to Spirit AeroSystems, which supplies fuselages to Boeing. Its experts discovered two non-standard holes on 50 fuselages.
Also today, Emirates Airlines President Tim Clark pointed out to Boeing a significant deterioration in the quality of aircraft, recalling the incident when a window and part of the fuselage flew out of a Boeing 737 MAX. He said he would send his engineers to production at Boeing for the first time, noting that the company had one last chance to work out the bugs.
