2 planes arrested in Turkey: tour operators can’t take 747 tourists out of Antalya

Another scandal surrounding planes and tourists is unfolding in Turkey. Two planes remain forcibly landed in Antalya, and about two thousand tourists are stuck. The truth is not this time in air sanctions.

The detained planes belong to Air Moldova. Accordingly, among the stuck – tourists from Chisinau. According to Turkish media, the reason for the arrest was the debts of the former owner of the air carrier. Both liners were confiscated by a company that provides ground handling services at Antalya Airport. According to Turkish media, the planes were confiscated because of the debt of the former owner of Air Moldova of 150 thousand euros, and the new owner of the company did not even know about such a debt.

“Extreme”, according to tradition, were tour operators – because the planes were used by tour operators, transporting tourists to Antalya. The number of victims is considerable – according to a representative of one of the tour operators to the Turkish media, 6 flights were affected, including 1,000 passengers from three flights to Antalya and Bodrum from the Moldovan capital, and 747 passengers who can not fly from Antalya and Bodrum to Chisinau.

According to the latest information, one of the planes has been released, but disruptions will continue, said a spokesman for the tour operator: “We are trying to rent planes from Pegasus and FreeBird and return. However, all this creates big problems for tourists”, he said.

It will be recalled that this is not the first plane crash in the coming days – and the previous one is related to air sanctions. This is the arrest of the Aeroflot liner in Sri Lanka – which also affected tour operators, as the carrier promptly closed flights to the country. Read the details at this link.
