Slovakia has stopped using the Russian vaccine

Slovakia has officially stopped using the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, the health ministry said, citing AFP.

According to a ministry spokesman, only 18,000 people were vaccinated when purchasing 200,000 doses in Russia.

The purchase sparked a huge political scandal that led to the resignations of Prime Minister Igor Matovic and Health Minister Marek Krajici in March.

Russia has bought up unused doses.
