Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczynski blamed Russia for the 2010 plane crash in Smolensk, which also killed his twin brother, former Polish President Lech Kaczynski.
“I have no doubt that what happened in the sky over Smolensk is a planned attack. This decision was made by the Kremlin,” Kaczynski said in an interview with the Polish magazine Sieci.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Poland believes that many countries are aware of what actually happened in Smolensk.
He believes that “the Polish government of that time made a frightening compromise with Russia in order to hide the truth.”
The Tu-154 aircraft, carrying 96 people, including Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife, crashed in a forest on April 10, 2010 while landing at the Russian Smolensk airport.
On board was a Polish delegation heading to a ceremony dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Katyn tragedy, where about 22,000 Poles were shot during the Stalin period.
