The first group of children evacuated from Ukrainian orphanages arrived in Antalya, the most popular foreign resort for Ukrainians. According to Turkish media, the first group of 185 people arrived in the resort town.
This group, consisting of 159 orphans and 26 guardians, arrived in Antalya by plane from Poland. It is specified that Ukrainian children will be accommodated in hotels where a significant number of Ukrainians live.
The Ukrainian ambassador told reporters at the airport that this is the first group of children, and more will arrive in the coming days. He thanked the Turkish government for the evacuation: “I hope the children will have a comfortable environment here and they will overcome the trauma of events in Ukraine. I hope that we will be able to accept about 2,000 children from Ukrainian orphanages.”
