In Turkey, they found someone to replace Ukrainian tourists — as the Turkish publication Ekonomim writes, Polish tourists coped with this task.
As the authors of the publication write, the number of Ukrainian tourists decreased by 67% in 2022 and 25% last year. As a result, this volume was almost completely replaced by Poles, whose number the previous year reached 1 million 540 thousand, adding 37%. The number of Polish tourists coming to Turkey has doubled in 4 years and exceeded 1.5 million people. Polish tourists have become the fourth source market, especially in Antalya.
This year, the Poles are also promised a good increase — by at least a quarter. Moreover, Polish tourists are distinguished by early booking. In the first quarter of this year, the number of tourists from Poland increased by 37.18%, reaching approximately 70 thousand.
The Mediterranean Tourism Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) said Poland has become an important market for Antalya as a market. “This year’s surprise country is Poland. Last year we welcomed about 1 million Polish tourists to Antalya. We expect that this year their number will exceed 1 million 250 thousand,” they said.
Hakan Saatchioglu, president of the Association of Professional Hotel Managers, said the Poles were in fourth place after the Russians, Germans, and British. Besides Antalya, they expect to increase more than 50% of the Polish market in Marmaris.
