In Sri Lanka, the number of dengue fever cases recorded in the first eleven months of 2023 has reached its highest level in three years.
However, experts see no reason to panic: compared to last year, the figure increased by only 2%, from 76,467 cases to 78,022.
The highest number of dengue fever cases was recorded in the Western Province with 36,480 cases, including 16,509 cases in Colombo.
Let us remind you that dengue is not transmitted from person to person; the fever can only be contracted through a mosquito bite.
