According to the Indonesian portal Tribun, in Indonesia, on the island of Java, there was an outbreak of a deadly disease – anthrax. The death toll has already risen to three people, and the diagnosis of anthrax has been confirmed in 87 people. This was stated by the Director of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health, Imran Pambudi.
According to preliminary information, the cause of the outbreak was that the first person who died from the virus ate the meat of his dead cow and also distributed this infected meat to “dozens of other residents of his area.”
The regional authorities of the island of Java have declared the highest level of epidemiological danger for 120 days.
