An increase in infections in swimming pools has been recorded in Turkish resorts

Tourists who are in a hurry to find salvation from the August heat in swimming pools are taking a big risk because it is in the summer that the level of infection increases in swimming pools that are not disinfected or are not disinfected properly.

Typical symptoms in tourists are sore throat, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. The details were reported by Turkiyeturizm concerning the Turkish professor, specialist in infectious diseases, and clinical microbiology at Beykent University Hospital Kan Polat Eygun.

“If precautions are not taken, factors such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites entering the water with sick tourists or carrier tourists can cause illness in healthy people. Currently, there is an increase in diseases with the following symptoms – sore throat, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting” – he explained.

You don’t have to sit in a wet swimsuit

In tourists who came to rest at a hotel with holes in the eardrum after swimming in the pool, germs can cause inflammation of the middle ear, an expert warned. In addition, he noted another problem with the popular habit among vacationers:

“Remember: you can’t sit in a wet swimsuit and underpants. Prolonged sitting in wet clothes can lead to genitourinary infections. It is also not possible to enter the water in the pool, which we consider dangerous and not disinfected.”
