A nine-year-old boy caught dengue fever from a mosquito bite while on a family vacation in the Philippines and died. Mirror writes about it.
The family couple of Australian Pulgadas went with their nine-year-old son to rest in the Philippines. One day at a popular resort, the boy felt unwell due to a mosquito bite. The child’s health deteriorated rapidly, and he was taken to the hospital.
After the onset of symptoms, including headache, fever, vomiting, and nosebleeds, the child developed shock syndrome – it turned out that the boy had dengue fever. The child was transferred to intensive care, where his organs failed. The baby later died.
It is noted that dengue fever is spread through the bites of tropical mosquitoes, while in about three cases out of four the disease does not flow into a severe form.
