South Koreans face the problem of lack of sexual intercourse.
According to a study by Yonsei University, every third resident of the capital Seoul has not had an affair during the year.
The survey was conducted among 2182 citizens aged 19 to 69 years. Of those surveyed, 1,071 were men and the other 1,111 were women.
According to the survey, 36% admitted that they have not had sex in the last 12 months, of which the largest percentage are women.
This is due to the following: 24% of women say that they are not interested in sex, while 15% of men explain the lack of sexual activity by difficulties in finding a sexual partner.
These two answers are inextricably linked. Thus, if some women are not interested in intimacy, men automatically find it difficult to find a partner.
The list of reasons also includes lack of personal space, stress at work, limited free time, etc.
Many explain this trend with the use of sexual aids, which researchers say promote individuals’ sexual complacency.
At the same time, studies show that less sexual intercourse occurs mainly in low-income families, and more – in high-income families.
“Korea is a very conservative society, and sex is still considered an extreme concept. In other words, it is perceived either as something very sacred or as something very dirty, without a medium scale, ”comments Business Insider Professor Hume Yusik, who participated in the study.
