Travel regime for citizens of Ukraine
Entry mode: Visa
Ukrainian citizens must obtain a visa to enter Jordan. The visa is issued at the crossing of the Jordanian border.
There are currently three ways to obtain a Jordanian tourist visa:
- purchase of the “Single Tourist Ticket” in advance – this can be done through the site (see: http://jordanpass.jo/). In this case, the visa is issued free of charge,
- purchase of a tour from a Jordanian travel company or through its representative in Ukraine (at least 48 hours in advance) – for at least two nights. In this case, the travel agency makes the so-called “Manifesto” – a letter of guarantee for the Jordanian Migration Service at the airport in Amman, and visas are also issued free of charge;
- independent trip to Jordan, hotel reservation. In this case, you have to pay 40 dinars for a visa (about 57 USD on arrival at the passport control you have to exchange dollars for dinars at the airport currency exchange office in front of the passport control desks and pay for the visa in dinars). Border guards at the airport are only required to book a hotel.
The visa is usually issued for up to one month, however, if justified, it is possible to extend it in any police station for up to 3-6 months. The Jordanian Embassy in Moscow should apply for a double and multiple entry visa.
It should be borne in mind that in order to obtain a Jordanian visa, the passport must be valid for six months from the date of issuance of the visa. Penalty for exceeding the legal period of stay – 1.5 dinars (about 2 USD) for each day of excess.
A foreigner cannot leave Jordan without paying all the fines for violating the legal stay. Foreigners who have married Jordanian citizens and issued a residence permit at least once (for 1 year) are exempted from paying fines for late renewal of the residence permit.
A transit visa is issued at Amman International Airport free of charge and allows you to stay only in a transit hotel located near the airport (Transit Hotel – Departures – North Pier-Tel: +962 6 445 1000-Fax: +962 6 445 1029- Mobile: +962 79 789 8000-Email: reservation@ammanairporthotel.com, Website: www.ammanairporthotel.com -works around the clock seven days a week).
If you need to leave the airport / transit hotel (for tourism, visiting friends, etc.), you need to obtain a Jordanian guest visa.
Jordanian visas are not issued at the Hussein Bridge checkpoint (on the border with Israel) – travelers must have pre-issued Jordanian visas or special permits from the Jordanian Interior Ministry.
Temporary residence permit (so-called “ikama”) is issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Jordan for a period of 1 year on the basis of a document on family / marriage with Jordanian citizens, study in the Kingdom, employment permit or documents confirming investment in the economy Jordan.
