Magnitude 5 earthquake hits southwest Iran

A magnitude 5 earthquake hit Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran.

According to the Seismological Center at the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Andik region.

Tremors were recorded at 02.46 local time.

The focus of the earthquake lay at a depth of seven kilometers.

There have been no reports of casualties or destruction yet.
