An Indian Spicejet was hit by severe turbulence and at least 14 passengers and three crew members were injured, NDTV reported.
The incident involved a Boeing B737 passenger aircraft on a domestic flight from Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Durgapur, West Bengal. According to preliminary data, the aircraft collided with a powerful air flow, after which it entered a zone of prolonged turbulence.
The TV channel published footage of the strong shaking of the plane, filmed by eyewitnesses on the phones. Passengers are scattered around the hall and screams are heard. Several people received head injuries, and one passenger suffered a spinal injury. The plane landed at its destination, and the victims were met by doctors.
The Indian Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the incident.
