Independent hospitality corporation IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) today announced the signing of a contract with InterContinental Resort Crete, confirming the debut on the Greek island of InterContinental, the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand.
Scheduled to open in spring 2023, this unique hotel will have 205 rooms, each with its veranda and half with private jacuzzis.
Offering idyllic views of Mirabello Bay and accessed directly from the waterfront, the hotel is the only hotel in Agios Nikolaos with such a convenient location. Crete’s capital, Heraklion, and Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport are less than an hour’s drive away.
The interior of the InterContinental Resort Crete is “inspired by elements of the sea, air, and rocks”, filled with local history, materials, and crafts. Everything here is done to ensure that tourists immerse themselves in the perfect combination of peace and relaxation. The entrance lobby, lounge, and reception will have an exposed rock face illuminated from above by a water-filled skylight.
The hotel will feature four restaurants, three bars, and a variety of amenities including a pool deck, indoor spa, infinity pool, and rooftop pool. There will also be a wellness and fitness center as well as extensive, fully equipped meeting facilities.
With its prime location and unparalleled amenities, InterContinental Resort Crete promises to be the first choice for guests seeking a luxury holiday in Crete.
Crete is one of the leading tourist destinations in Greece with over six million tourists thanks to its picturesque beaches, pristine natural beauty, gourmet cuisine, and thousands of years of culture and history, including Minoan monuments such as the Palace of Knossos.
