A critical situation has developed in Turkish resorts: before the “hot” summer season, 704 certified hotels were put up for sale, which could not withstand the rising cost of work and the crisis in general, which permeated the tourism industry in Turkey.
According to Turkish travel media, the star hotels accounted for half of all offers on the market among the objects of the tourism industry. Others are boutique hotels (428 options), apart-hotels (194 options), hostels (92 options), campsites (25 options), roadside hotels (19 options), suburban real estate with infrastructure for tourists (16 options ). A total of 1,478 offers in the field of tourist real estate. Objects were estimated at the hryvnia equivalent from 250 thousand to 10 billion.
As for the mass disposal of certified hotels, of which there are 704, according to the latest data, 217 of them have a special certificate, 99 – five-star, 164 – four-star, 169 – three-star, 28 – two-star and 28 – one-star.
A large number of ads for the sale of hotels were announced in Mugle, where the famous resorts of Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye – there are 228 applications, in the main resort of Antalya, the most focused on the Russian market – 211, in Izmir – 164, in Istanbul – the city of the weekend. 135 – in Balikesir – 89, in Nevsehir – 79 and in the capital Ankara – 28.
The Turkish press saw the reasons for the hotel sale in the severe crisis in the tourism sector: economic difficulties, huge inflation and declining tourists from Ukraine and Russia, as well as cancellations and debts of hoteliers to banks, which date back to the acute period.
