All Inclusive hotels in Turkey are getting even more expensive for one reason – the rise in the price of the “convertible” currency and the fall of the lira has affected the price of the all-inclusive holiday product that many need. It’s about alcohol prices. Turkish travel media note that at least some positions have increased in price by 25-30%.
So, vodka, whiskey, and tequila products of the Perno group, which also includes Chivas whiskey, increased by 25-30%. As the president of the Tekel Dealers’ Solidarity Association, Erol Dundar, added, the price of 1,000 ml of whiskey has increased to 1,200 lira (over UAH 1,700 at today’s exchange rate). The price of cognac with a volume of 700 ml rose to 6,950 lire (to 9,800 hryvnias, respectively).
At the same time, we remind you that Turkish hotels have had problems with alcohol — more precisely, with its high price — since the covid pandemic. And they solve it in a rather dangerous way for tourists – local police raids every time “cover” shops and warehouses in hotels with counterfeit alcohol – and it “pretends” to be expensive spirits.
We will also add that this will be an additional increase in such a high price. Holidays in Turkey have doubled in price — that’s how much the average check has grown, according to tour operators. As a result, a serious decline in the “budget” segment is recorded. These statistics were provided by ATOR experts based on the data of tour operators. The study was conducted in comparison with the “before” year of 2019. A brief analysis of the situation is as follows: the average check has increased from 70% to 90% compared to pre-war times, and the flow of Russian tourists has decreased by more than a third. However, a part of the “expensive” tourists who can afford expensive hotels and expenses for additional services “migrated” to Turkey.
