There is no mass sale of hotels in Antalya. The resort has enough working accommodation facilities to accommodate all Russian tourists who want to relax. This was told to journalists by the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the province Davut Cetin, commenting on media reports about the crisis in the hotel market of Antalya.
In particular, over the weekend, some Turkish publications published statistics from the Sahibinden online ad platform. According to the data presented, about 700 accommodation facilities in tourist regions are currently for sale in Turkey. At the same time, some journalists concluded that this indicates serious difficulties in the hotel sector.
“On a national scale, about 700 hotels have been put up for sale, but the number of such facilities in Antalya itself does not exceed 100. Considering that there are more than 2,000 accommodation facilities in our province, the figure of 100 hotels looks absolutely normal, this is a very small percentage in the volume of the entire market,” explained Davut Çetin.
He also noted that 2020 and 2021 were quite difficult for the Turkish tourism industry due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some hoteliers in such conditions really could not cope with the crisis, despite various state support. However, now the hospitality industry in the country, despite a slight decline in the number of tourists due to the situation in Ukraine, feels quite confident.
