Airbnb has launched a significant update, unveiling over 65 new features, with one of the standout additions being a social network experience built into the platform. Airbnb is moving beyond lodging and experiences to become a hub for connections before, during, and after travel.
What the social features bring
Guests booking Airbnb Experiences can now share their profiles, see who else is attending, message one another, and keep connections in a dedicated “Connections” section. This builds a deeper sense of community among travelers. (Source: Travel + Leisure)
Maps have also been upgraded: listings now display nearby restaurants, public transit stops, and shops — with walking or driving time estimates. Future views will include satellite, transit, and street modes.
