Another police raid of hotels in the touristic Turkish province of Antalya in search of contraband alcohol did not leave without loot. A large batch of smuggled vodka was discovered in one of the hotels. Dirty hoteliers have prepared well for New Year’s drinking of tourists with counterfeit alcohol: the number of liter bottles of counterfeit alcohol exceeded 2,000.
According to local media, it is about a hotel in the Manavgat district. The Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command searched a hotel warehouse operating in the Çolakı district as part of an anti-smuggling effort. During the warehouse search, 2,265 bottles of contraband vodka with a volume of 1 liter worth 800,000 Turkish lire (about 1.6 million hryvnias) were seized.
We will remind you that raids are periodically held in Turkey in search of manufacturers and suppliers of counterfeit alcohol. What is especially worth emphasizing is that not only lovers of “strong” are at risk. Thus, the result of another roundup in the Manavgat district of Antalya was a serious “find” – as many as 22 tons of fake beer, which was planned to be drunk on tourists for the New Year.
“During the operation carried out by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department (COM) teams of the Antalya Provincial Police Department, 22 tons of draft beer were found, which were produced illegally and had fake labels, including a well-known brand of imported beer”, local publications report.
