A resort hotel in the Alanya district of the resort province of Antalya was badly damaged by a fire that broke out last Friday morning. Some of the tourists were evacuated, the rest managed to escape, and two firefighters were injured. The causes of the fire are being investigated.
According to Turkish media, the fire broke out around 11:00 am on the roof of one of the hotels in the Kestel district. The fire began to spread very quickly and in a short time covered the entire surface of the roof. Eyewitnesses reported the accident to the Emergency Center. Soon, numerous firefighters and gendarmerie teams arrived at the scene.
Firefighters who arrived at the hotel tackled the blaze, while members of the gendarmerie evacuated guests staying at the hotel. Air services were called in to extinguish the fire. With the help of a helicopter, it was possible to stop the flames after one hour. As a result of the smoke, 2 firefighters were injured. It was clarified that there were no victims among the tourists. In connection with the ignition, the investigation into the causes of the fire continues.
