A fire broke out on the roof of a five-star hotel in Antalya. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire could have been a charger that a tourist from Kyrgyzstan forgot in the socket, Beyaz Gundem reports.
It is noted that while the fire was being extinguished, some guests left the hotel with suitcases. And yet there were no casualties at all – the authorities reported one casualty.
The fire broke out at about 10:15 on the roof of the building where the entrance to a five-star hotel in the Gundogdu area is located. Due to heavy smoke, firefighters, doctors, and police arrived at the scene.
As a result of the fire, material damage was caused to the roof and some rooms of the hotel. The fire was brought under control and extinguished approximately 30 minutes after crews arrived.
“It has been previously established that the fire occurred as a result of the explosion of a charger that a tourist forgot in an electrical outlet,” fire service officials commented on the incident.
According to the director of Turan Prince Hotels, Zekay Aydin, a guest from Kyrgyzstan left the charger in the socket because the device exploded in the room where he was staying.
