Due to the drought, it was forbidden to brush teeth with tap water in a French village

In one of the villages in the south of France, residents were forbidden to use tap water for brushing their teeth, because due to the lack of water, it is delivered by tankers, which can affect its quality, reports DPA.

Tap water cannot be drunk, used for preparing baby food, or for cooking, the municipality of Barzhmon, located near the Cote d’Azur, announced on its website.

Instead, residents were told that they could take bottles of water from City Hall for these purposes. The ban was introduced for reasons of hygiene. Due to the drought, water is now delivered by tankers, which may affect its quality, local authorities explain.

The region is also in the grip of a heatwave, with Bargemont authorities warning residents that temperatures could reach 40 degrees Celsius. Access to large areas is strictly limited due to the increased risk of forest fires.
