Western countries will announce new sanctions against Russia on Thursday and tighten existing ones. This was stated by White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, according to world agencies.
He also assured that the United States has not yet seen China supply military equipment to Russia since Joe Biden’s last video conference with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping last Friday. Washington continues to monitor such potential actions by Beijing, Sullivan added.
He said that during his visit to Europe later this week, Biden would announce joint actions to increase European energy security and reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian oil and natural gas, according to Reuters.
During the visit, Biden will also discuss with Washington’s allies issues related to adjusting the deployment of NATO forces, according to Reuters and TARS.
Biden will travel to Europe to meet with NATO Allied leaders, EU leaders and G7 leaders. The head of state will leave tomorrow, but his meetings will begin on Thursday, reminds Reuters.
After participating in several summits in Brussels, Biden will visit Poland, adds France-Presse.
