Starting in the second half of 2022, Europe will allow travelers and business tourists under the new rules – visa entry into the EU will be digital, European media quoted EU innovations. According to skeptical experts, it is a question of introduction of total control over biometrics on all who arrives.
It is specified that tourists entering the EU countries will be met at the passport control by works that identify guests of the country through face recognition and fingerprints, as well as compare other information.
This system has already been used by the United States in the EU, and the European Union is now ready to use this experience to practice biometric entry to those arriving from outside the EU.
Before traveling to the territory of the Union countries, the traveler must fill out a special form with a payment of 7 euros (about 200 hryvnia). Once this form is approved, tourists coming from third countries will be allowed to travel to the EU.
It is expected that the transition to this system will take place in the first 6 months of 2022. On the one hand, with the help of biometric identification, the European authorities are probably trying to increase passenger comfort, reduce costs, and on the other hand, to fight terrorism, replenish databases and establish total tracking of everyone who enters.
