The transit of goods in the direction of China – the European Union due to the events in Belarus may be reoriented to Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar during his speech on July 7 at a session on transport, infrastructure and logistics during the forum “Ukraine 30: International Politics”, BelaPAN reports.
– The fact that the quality of our infrastructure is changing allows us to compete with other areas. I do not agree that we will be bypassed by other routes, because you see what is being done in Belarus now. And the same China-EU direction can be reoriented, including to Ukraine, if we offer conditions and work with the European Union and our eastern partners on infrastructure development, reduction of procedures, tariffs and so on, – said the Ukrainian official.
He added that there is a program of international cooperation between the EU and partner countries in the organization of the transport corridor Europe – Caucasus – Asia (TRACECA).
– This is a project we are working on with the European Union and the countries of the South Caucasus, and this direction is to China. This is a real alternative, quite competitive, – Bodnar explained.
According to him, opportunities for the introduction of so-called electronic signatures and digitization are currently being developed.
– We can change the existing practice of checking documents, passing procedures, and so on, so that we can safely learn about the passage of goods from China that left Warsaw. That is, the main thing now is to implement technologies, – said Bodnar.
It will be recalled that on the eve of a meeting on countering sanctions, Lukashenko instructed to ban the transit of goods through Belarus from Germany to Russia and China.
