New deposits of oil and gas found in the desert of Egypt

The Italian oil and gas company Eni has made new oil and gas discoveries in the Western Desert of Egypt in the Meleiha concessions. About this with reference to the press service of Eni.

“The Nada E Deep 1X well discovered 60 m of hydrocarbons in the Cretaceous-Jurassic formations of Alam El Bueib & Khatatba, the Meleiha SE Deep 1X well discovered 30 m of hydrocarbons in the Cretaceous-Jurassic sands of the Matruh & Khatatba formations, and the Emry Deep 21 well discovered 35 m hydrocarbons in the massive Alam El Bueib Cretaceous Sandstone,” the publication says.

The company believes that these results confirm the region’s potential. “Other promising exploration work in the concession is ongoing,” the Eni press service said.

The Meleiha concession is also operated by Russia’s LUKOIL, which owns a 24% stake in the AGIBA management project.

Earlier it was reported that the American oil corporation ExxonMobil received the approval of the Guyana Environmental Protection Agency and began developing an oil field on the shelf. The project was named Yellowtail. According to the company’s plan, the field will produce up to 250,000 barrels of oil and gas per day.

Recall that in early April it became known that more than 30 countries of the world “print out” their oil reserves. This was announced by US President Joe Biden, noting that the campaign to saturate the market with oil aims to reduce prices for this resource.
