Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held a meeting Thursday at Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to examine preparations for the inauguration of the new city.
The meeting was attended by officials and representatives of the company that organized the ceremony.
The meeting is being commissioned by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to begin preparations for the opening of the New Capital, including the choice of venues for the celebrations. The offered places include the People’s yard, the area of a flagpole and others.
The Prime Minister said that the ceremony would send a message about the beginning of the “New Republic”. It is noted that in March the president used the term “Second Republic” to say that the opening of the New Capital marks the foundation of a new Egypt, which is modern and developed in terms of modernization of infrastructure and public services, as well as new cities, including fourth generation who are executed.
Madbuli listened to a presentation by officials from the Armed Forces Engineering Department on the pace of progress in the government district. The construction of the buildings is 100 percent complete. Facades of buildings, electromechanical works and landscaping are being completed.
