China has announced that the voyeur network has been hacked by illegal webcams, 59 people have been arrested and 25,000 cameras confiscated, according to Reuters.
The Chinese Cyberspace Authority said the operation was carried out by a joint effort of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security and the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Voyeurs used platforms such as Baidu, Tensent and UC Browser from Alibaba, from which 8,000 units of “voyeur information” were removed, and sanctions were applied to 134 illegal accounts, the administration said.
