Bulgaria: Refugee Center sells one tomato for 1 euro and bread for 2.5 euros

According to Dnes.bg, it cannot be called anything other than bullying and bribery.

at the Center for Temporary Detention of Foreigners in Busmanka, food was sold to guests several times more expensive than its usual cost. So, the price of one loaf of ordinary bread was 5 levs (2.5 euros). This is despite the fact that in the store you can buy it 4-5 times cheaper. And for one tomato you had to pay 2 levs (1 euro), although at will for this price you could buy a kilogram. Cigarettes are set at almost 100%.

“It’s a shame, no matter how we look at it, no matter how we treat the refugees we feed them. They went to earn some money in the west, that’s a problem, “said Tikhomir Bezlov, a spokesman for the Center for the Study of Democracy.

“The question is, who is the trader who came to this center, how much will you give him to earn and who will determine how much to earn? He is apparently in a more complicated relationship than trading on the street. If you try to reduce its profits, the store will remain empty, “Bezlov commented, hinting that the trader has to share with the center’s management.
