Bulgarian health services have found a sharp increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus. Over the last 24 hours, 774 new cases of infection were registered, 598 more than the day before, the information portal of the Ministry of Health of the country reported on Tuesday.
About 3.3% of coronavirus tests were positive. In 24 hours, 23 patients died. The number of hospitalized has increased to 1,140, of which 94 are in intensive care units.
The number of people vaccinated against coronavirus in Bulgaria exceeded 2.1 million, about 1.04 million received two doses of the vaccine.
According to experts, Bulgaria is at the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic. According to forecasts, by the end of this week the daily increase in the number of those infected may exceed 1,000. By the end of August, the country has continued the epidemic emergency situation.
