A magnitude 5.9 earthquake shook Brazil near the Peruvian border, according to the United States. Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake was registered at 12.52 UTC. The epicenter was located 165 km northwest of the municipality of Tarawaka. The cell lay at a depth of 589 kilometers.
There was no information about possible casualties and destruction.
