Emirates plane flew for 14 hours with a hole in its side

According to The Independent, an Emirates airline (UAE) passenger plane made a successful 14-hour flight with a hole in the fuselage.

The aircraft was traveling from Dubai to Brisbane (Australia) on 1 July. According to the passengers of the flight, shortly after takeoff, they heard a loud bang. The crew checked the operation of all aircraft systems, and, having found no failures, decided to continue the flight in normal mode.

At the same time, before arriving in Brisbane, the pilots reported airing traffic controllers about an emergency that may arise during landing. On the ground, the liner was met by emergency services. The landing was successful, and only after it a hole in the fuselage was discovered.

The reason for the hole in the airline called the fact that one of the 22 tires of the aircraft’s landing gear ruptured during the flight, damaging the skin of the airliner.
