A. Transit visa
This type of visa is issued to travelers traveling to another point of arrival through Nigeria, where they need to make a stop or just drive. This is especially true of the need to get to seaports by ship. The visa is placed in the passport of the applicant (applicants) indicating the period for which the holder is allowed to stay, as a rule, this period does not exceed 14 days.
The main requirement for obtaining this visa is the availability of a further travel ticket / reservation in Nigeria.
Applicants must come to the Embassy at the appointed time with the following documents:
- The original invitation letter from the company (must be sent directly to the Embassy). If the applicant is invited by the company.
- A copy of the registration certificate of the company inviting the applicant (applicants).
- Passport valid for up to six months.
- Medical certificate from a doctor about satisfactory health.
- Vaccination card (Yellow card).
- 2 new photos, the size of a passport photo.
- Paid receipt and check confirming payment.
B. Tourist visa / Guest visa
This visa is usually issued to a tourist / visitor who intends to visit Nigeria on holiday or who has been invited by a Nigerian to visit the country. In this case, the applicant must indicate the place where he will live during the visit. He also needs to provide the Migration Service with proof that he has enough money for his stay in Nigeria.
Requirements:
- The original invitation letter (must be sent directly to the Embassy).
- If a Nigerian citizen submits an invitation, he or she must send a personal invitation letter and a copy of the data page of their passport to our e-mail address: nigeriaconsul@gmail.com
- A copy of the company’s registration certificate (required if the applicant is invited by the company).
- Passport valid for up to six months.
- Medical certificate from a doctor about satisfactory health.
- Vaccination card (Yellow card).
- 2 new photos, the size of a passport photo.
- Receipt and check to confirm payment.
- Extract from the applicant’s bank account.
NIGERIANS APPLYING FOR VISA FOR FAMILY / FRIENDS
- Invitation letter.
- A copy of the passport or residence permit (if any) of the inviting party.
- Passport valid for up to six months.
- Certificate of satisfactory health from a doctor.
- Vaccination card (Yellow card).
- 2 new photos, the size of a passport photo.
- Online payment of the established visa fees on the website http://www.immigration.gov.ng
- You must print out a completed form, a receipt, and a check for payment.

C. Temporary work permit (TDR)
This type of visa is issued to applicants who intend to enter Nigeria to perform certain work for a period of time. Such work includes, but is not limited to, crew services, installation / repair of equipment, audit of accounts, teaching or other professional work for which there is a shortage of specialists in Nigeria. TDR visas are usually issued for 3 months.
Requirements:
- Approved the original form for registration of the TDR of the Migration
- Service of Nigeria (must be sent directly to the Embassy).
- Original invitation letter and notification from the applicant’s company (must be sent directly to the Embassy).
- A copy of the company’s registration certificate.
- Passport valid for up to six months.
- Medical certificate from a doctor about satisfactory health.
- Vaccination card (Yellow card).
- 2 new photos, the size of a passport photo.
- Receipt for payment and a check confirming payment.
- Copies of documents confirming the applicant’s qualifications in English.
- Resume of the applicant in English.
D. Settlement visa (STR)
A visa subject to settlement (STR) is granted mainly on the basis of a quota in private organizations, approved by the Ministry of Interior (Abuja). The visa is issued at the request of companies and investors applying for a permit on behalf of the applicant (applicants) to work in Nigeria.
Requirements:
- Approved quota from the Ministry of Interior (Abuja, Nigeria).
- An invitation letter and acceptance letter must be sent to the Embassy.
- A copy of the company’s registration certificate.
- Medical certificate of satisfactory health, issued by a doctor.
- Vaccination card (Yellow card).
- 2 new photos, the size of a passport photo.
- Receipt and check confirming payment.
- 4 new photos, the size of a passport photo.
- 4 copies of the appointment order.
- 4 copies of the acceptance notice.
- 4 copies of the description of working conditions.
- 4 copies of documents confirming the authority of the applicant.
- 4 copies of the IMM / 22 form.
- Copies of documents confirming the applicant’s qualifications in English.
- Resume of the applicant in English.
Business visa
- 2 photos, the size of a passport photo;
- Foreign passport (valid for at least six months).
- Letter of invitation from a company in Nigeria stating the full responsibility for immigration, the purpose of the trip and the length of stay (The original must be sent to the Embassy). This letter should be sent to the Embassy.
- A copy of the passport of the inviting party (if necessary).
- A copy of the company’s registration certificate in Nigeria must also be attached to the invitation letter when sent to the Embassy.
- Valid international medical certificate of vaccination (vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory). A copy must be attached to the application.
- Copy of residence permit (if necessary).
- Extract from the bank account of the company.
E. Diplomatic / Service Visa
Provided to civil servants, diplomats and their wives / husbands / children on appointment / official visit to Nigeria. They are mainly holders of diplomatic and service passports.
Requirements:
- Verbal note;
- Diplomatic or service passport with a validity period of at least 6 months;
- 2 photos, the size of a passport photo;
- Application number and registration number;
- There is no charge for this type of visa.
General information:
Applicants should note that $ 100.00 is charged as an administrative fee for express service (24 hours) and $ 50.00 for regular service (3 days). Administrative fees are required to be paid to the Embassy account at the current exchange rate.
In addition, visa applicants must have a copy of the payment receipt during the trip, as it will be required to present it at the migration control point.
